Condorcet was founded in 2014 to make heavily engaged private investments. The firm is predicated on the theory that the focussed application of disproportionate corporate human capital on pre-public companies can have extraordinary impact, well beyond that which financial capital alone can achieve. The founding partners have several decades of global corporate experience between them – as advisors, executives and directors – at some of the world’s leading companies. Collectively their experience spans the entire senior agenda at the highest levels: strategy, finance, private and public markets and investors, organization, operations, and governance, on several continents. Condorcet’s business model continues to evolve but all its projects have a common set of features:
- Intense engagement with company management on the strategic agenda
- Board membership by at least one partner
- Personal investment
- Complete alignment of interests with the company as the only principal
- Exposure of projects to the partners’ collective network, bringing capabilities, people and finance to the companies
- Focus on domains where the partners have meaningful experience (e.g., bio-pharma, software enabled services)
- In-bound project (deal) flow from the partners’ extensive global network
